Getting Started

How do I install Slably?

Grab it from the App Store on iPhone or iPad — search "Slably" or use the direct link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/slably-tcg-collector/id6777917958.

Is Slably free?

Yes — the app is free to download and the core features (scanning, catalog search, wishlist, daily prices) are free forever. Slably PRO is an optional upgrade for binders, graded card capture, the web companion, and advanced analytics.

Do I need an account?

Yes, a quick account keeps your collection safe and syncs it across devices. You can sign up with email + password or use Sign in with Apple.

What happens the first time I open the app?

You'll create an account, pick a display name, and land on the scan screen. Start scanning or search the catalog manually. Binders unlock with Slably PRO.

Which devices work?

iPhone and iPad running a recent version of iOS/iPadOS. Android and web are on the roadmap — no dates yet.

How do I switch to dark mode?

Settings → Appearance → Dark. There's also a system-matching option that follows your iOS theme.

Scanning Cards

How do I scan a card?

Tap the scan button in the app, point your camera at the card, and hold steady until Slably identifies it. Review the match, then add it to a binder.

Do I need to take the card out of a sleeve?

No — Slably identifies cards through penny sleeves, toploaders, and graded slabs. Better lighting helps if the sleeve is very glossy.

Can I scan graded cards (PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC)?

Yes. Slably identifies the card through the slab. Logging the grade + grader (which unlocks with Slably PRO) lets you keep the graded version as a separate entry from the raw copy.

Slably didn't identify my card. What should I try?

- Move to brighter, more even lighting (avoid direct overhead glare). - Hold the card steady and centered in the frame. - If the card is in a very glossy sleeve, try scanning without it once. - Turn off the flash if it's washing out the image. - If it still misses, tap "Search instead" and add it manually.

Slably identified the wrong card. How do I fix it?

On the confirmation screen, tap "Not this card?" and search for the correct one. Adding it manually stores the right entry — the next similar scan will get better over time.

Which sets can I scan?

Pokémon TCG at launch — English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese sets are indexed. More sets are added regularly.

Can I scan multiple cards at once?

Not yet — bulk multi-card scanning is coming. For now, one card per scan.

Search & Catalog

How do I search for a card?

Tap the search icon and start typing. You can search by card name, set number, or rarity — Slably matches partial input, so "sylv 156" finds Sylveon #156.

Can I search by set?

Yes — filter by set from the search screen. Sets are grouped by language (English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese).

Which languages are supported?

English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese sets are indexed in-app.

A card is missing from the catalog. What do I do?

Type `human` in Discord support and let us know the set + card number — we add missing entries as they're reported.

How often is the catalog updated?

New sets get added on an ongoing basis, prioritized by release date and community requests. Slably PRO subscribers get early access to newly indexed catalogs.

Can I add a custom card that isn't in the catalog?

Not right now for public catalog entries — but if it's missing, let us know and we'll get it added. Custom promo card support is on the roadmap.

Binders

What's a binder?

A binder is a collection of cards you own or track. Slably PRO subscribers can create as many as they want to organize their collection however they like.

Are binders a free feature?

Binders are a Slably PRO feature. The free tier includes scanning, catalog search, wishlist, and daily prices — subscribe to PRO to organize what you own into unlimited binders.

How do I create a new binder?

From the Binders tab (visible with Slably PRO), tap the `+` and give it a name (e.g. "Base Set Master Set" or "Trade Binder"). Then start adding cards.

Can I organize binders by set, value, or theme?

Yes — however you want. Binders are just containers, so use them for sets, eras, character focus, trade piles, sold pile, whatever fits your collecting.

Can I move a card between binders?

Open the card, tap the binder field, and pick a new binder. That moves the ownership entry over.

Can I share a binder with someone else?

Yes — from a binder you can generate a public share link. The recipient sees the cards, prices, and set breakdown but can't modify anything.

Can I make a binder private?

Binders are private by default. You only expose them when you generate a share link.

How many cards can a binder hold?

No limit — as many as you want.

Does moving a card between binders change its purchase price or grade?

No — those stay with the card entry. Only the binder it belongs to changes.

Do I keep my binders if I cancel PRO?

Your binders and all the cards in them are preserved. Read access continues; creating new binders or editing existing ones pauses until you re-subscribe.

Grading (PSA / BGS / CGC / SGC)

Does Slably support graded cards?

Yes. You can log graded copies alongside raw copies of the same card as separate entries.

Which graders does Slably track?

PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC, and TAG.

How do I add a graded card?

Scan or search for the card, then on the card detail screen tap the grade field and pick the grader + grade level (e.g. PSA 10, BGS 9.5, CGC 9). Graded card capture is a Slably PRO feature.

Can I log a graded card on the free tier?

Free tier lets you own the card, but the grader + grade level fields unlock with Slably PRO. Once you upgrade, the fields become editable on every graded card entry.

Does Slably show the price for the graded version separately?

Yes — graded copies pull their own market price, so a raw XY Evolutions Charizard and a PSA 10 XY Evolutions Charizard are priced independently.

What if my grader isn't listed?

Right now the four majors (PSA/BGS/CGC/SGC) plus TAG are supported. If you use a different grader let us know via support and we'll evaluate adding it.

Can I track cert numbers?

Cert-number tracking is on the roadmap. For now, you can note the cert in the card's notes field.

Card Pricing

Where do card prices come from?

Market prices come from TCGplayer and eBay sold listings. Both are aggregated to give you a fair snapshot of what a card is trading for.

How often are prices updated?

Prices refresh daily.

Are graded cards priced differently from raw?

Yes — graded copies (PSA 10, BGS 9.5, etc.) pull their own pricing separate from the raw version of the same card.

Can I see historical price data?

Yes. Each card shows a price history chart. Free tier gets recent history; Slably PRO unlocks the full MAX range for every card.

Why doesn't the price match TCGplayer / eBay exactly today?

Prices update on a schedule, so intraday moves lag. If a card just spiked, it may take up to a day to reflect.

Does Slably show prices in currencies other than USD?

USD at launch. Multi-currency is on the roadmap.

Does the binder total value show me what I'd sell for or what I'd pay?

It shows aggregated market price across your cards — a middle estimate. Actual sell/buy prices depend on the buyer, condition, and platform fees.

Wishlist

What's the wishlist for?

Cards you're hunting but don't own yet. You can watch their market price and get a quick reminder of what you're after.

How do I add a card to my wishlist?

Search for or scan the card, open the detail screen, and tap the wishlist icon.

How do I remove a card from my wishlist?

Open the card and tap the wishlist icon again — it toggles off. Or swipe on the wishlist list view.

Can I have multiple wishlists?

One wishlist per account right now. Multiple named wishlists are on the roadmap.

Does the wishlist limit apply on the free tier?

No hard limit. The wishlist is free on both tiers.

Can I share my wishlist?

Sharing your wishlist as a link is on the roadmap. For now the wishlist stays private.

Data Export

Can I export my collection?

CSV export is on the roadmap and rolling out. Your data is always yours — if you need to export today, reach out via `human` and we'll get you a copy manually.

When is CSV export shipping?

No committed date yet. It's actively being built and will land in a coming update. Slably PRO subscribers will get early access.

What will be in the CSV?

Card name, set, set number, rarity, condition, grade (if graded), grader, purchase price (if set), current market price, binder, and the date you added it.

Can I import from another app (e.g. Collectr)?

Not automatic yet. If you have a Collectr CSV export, email it to kolton@vandergriffventures.com — we'll seed your account manually during this beta window.

Does the export include my wishlist?

Yes, wishlist export will be a separate CSV — same rollout.

Can I get a copy of my data now?

Yes — request it via `human` and we'll send a copy. Automatic self-serve is coming.

Slably PRO

What is Slably PRO?

An optional subscription that unlocks binders, graded card capture, the web companion, and advanced analytics for serious collectors. Everything you need to start (scanning, catalog search, wishlist, daily prices) stays free.

What does PRO unlock?

- **Unlimited binders** — organize by set, era, value, trade pile, sold pile, however you collect - **Public binder share links** - **Graded card capture** — log PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC, and TAG graded cards with grader + grade level - **MAX chart range** — full price history on every card and your binder - **PRO badge** on your profile - **Advanced analytics** (rolling out) — set completion %, ROI signals, market trends - **Web companion** — sign in on slablytcg.com, sync across devices, bulk edit, CSV import - **Early access** to new TCG catalogs and features

How much does PRO cost?

- **Slably PRO Monthly** — $6.99 per month - **Slably PRO Annual** — $59.99 per year (about $4.99/month, save around 29% vs. monthly)

Where do I subscribe?

Tap the PRO / paywall entry point inside the app. Purchases are handled through the App Store.

Do subscriptions auto-renew?

Yes — subscriptions auto-renew unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel any time from your Apple ID subscription settings.

Is there a free trial?

Check the paywall inside the app for any current trial offer — trial availability may change.

Can I share PRO across a family?

Slably PRO uses your Apple ID. If Family Sharing is enabled for subscriptions on your Apple ID, family members may see it — but sharing terms follow Apple's Family Sharing rules for subscriptions.

What happens to my cards if I cancel PRO?

Everything you've added stays. Graded fields become read-only for new entries but existing graded data is preserved. Prices continue to update; you just lose the MAX chart range.

Purchases, Restore, Cancel, Refunds

I subscribed but the app still says I'm not PRO. What now?

Try Settings → Restore Purchases. Give it about 60 seconds to sync with Apple. If it still shows free tier, force-quit and reopen the app, then Restore again.

How do I restore purchases on a new device?

Sign in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe, then Settings → Restore Purchases. Your PRO status will reappear.

How do I cancel my subscription?

On your iPhone: Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → Slably → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period — you keep PRO until then.

Can I switch from Monthly to Annual (or vice versa)?

Yes — in the same Subscriptions screen (Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Slably), tap the plan option to switch. Apple prorates the change.

I want a refund. How do I request one?

Refunds go through Apple, not us. On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → View Account → Purchase History → find the Slably charge → Report a Problem. Or use https://reportaproblem.apple.com in a browser.

I was double-charged.

That would be Apple's billing — but let us know via `human` in Discord and we can help you look into it. Include the two purchase dates from your Apple purchase history.

Can I get a refund directly from Slably?

Since Apple handles the payment, refund decisions go through them. We can advocate for you if you're stuck — reach out via `human` and share what happened.

My payment failed / card was declined.

That's between you and Apple — try updating your payment method in Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping.

Troubleshooting

The scan isn't detecting my card.

- Move to brighter, more even lighting. - Hold the card steady and centered in the camera frame. - If it's in a very glossy sleeve, try scanning without the sleeve once. - Turn off the flash if it's washing out the image. - If it still doesn't detect, tap "Search instead" to add it manually.

The scan identified the wrong card.

On the confirmation screen, tap "Not this card?" and pick the correct match from the search results.

The app is crashing.

- Force-quit Slably (swipe up on the app card) and reopen. - Restart your iPhone. - Make sure iOS is up to date. - If it still crashes, uninstall and reinstall. Your data is tied to your account, so signing back in restores everything. - Still crashing? Reach out via `human` with the screen where it crashes.

I can't sign in.

- Double-check your email and password. If you signed up with Sign in with Apple, use that button, not email + password. - Reset your password from the sign-in screen. - If Sign in with Apple isn't working, sign out of Apple ID on that device and back in.

I forgot which email I used.

Reach out via `human` and share any info that identifies your account (Apple ID region, approximate signup date, in-app display name). We can look it up.

The catalog search isn't finding a card.

- Try just the number ("047") or just the character name. - Try the alternate spelling or Japanese/Chinese name if applicable. - If the card is genuinely missing from the catalog, report the set + number via `human` — we'll add it.

My binder total value seems off.

Prices refresh daily. If a card just spiked, the update can lag up to a day. Also check whether the specific card is a graded vs. raw entry — graded copies are priced independently.

The price history chart is missing / short.

Free tier shows recent history. Slably PRO unlocks MAX range (full history) on every card.

I keep getting logged out.

Try signing out of Slably, then back in. If it repeats, reach out via `human` — could be a device-specific issue we should look at.

The app is slow.

Slow catalog searches usually clear up after force-quit + reopen. If a specific screen is consistently slow, tell us which one via `human`.

Support & Escalation

How do I reach a real person?

Type `human` any time in a support conversation. That flags the message for the team to pick up.

How fast is human support?

Typically within a business day. Overnight and weekend messages may wait until the next morning.

What if my issue is urgent?

Include the word "urgent" and a short description of what's happening. That flags it for faster review.

Can I email support instead?

Yes — kolton@vandergriff-ventures.com. Discord support is faster for most questions.

What info should I include when I message support?

- What you were trying to do - What actually happened - Your Slably display name (helps us find your account) - Screenshots if it's a UI issue

I want to report a bug.

Type `bug` followed by what happened. That opens a ticket the team reviews. Include steps to reproduce if you have them.

I want to request a feature.

Type `feature` followed by your idea. Requests go into our roadmap-review list.

Can I chat directly with the founder?

Yes — Kolton (the founder) responds to escalations personally. Type `human` and it routes to him.

I'm not on Discord, how do I get help?

Email kolton@vandergriff-ventures.com or open a support ticket via the App Store listing's "App Support" link.
